Puppy Socials to Juniors
....and Beyond
At It’s A Dog’s Life St Helens, we support owners in giving their puppies and young dogs the best start. Our classes provide a structured, and supportive environment where puppies and young dogs can develop confidence, social skills, and emotional intelligence — all while having fun with their favourite humans.
Starting with our Puppy Socials and with the option to progress into the Juniors Club, dogs and owners can grow together, learning valuable skills, and gaining confidence in real-world situations.

FOR PUPS UP TO 6 MONTHS
Puppy Socials
Giving your puppy the best start isn’t just about meeting other dogs — it’s about building confidence, resilience, and positive experiences in a safe, supportive environment.
Our Puppy Socials are designed and run by a Qualified Behaviourist, IMDT Trainer, and Easy Peasy Puppy Instructor, so you and your pup are supported every step of the way.
What to Expect
Classes run every Saturday at 11:10am and are booked online. Each session begins calmly, with puppies on-lead. This helps them become aware of the other pups while feeling secure with their families. From there, they’re free to explore our enrichment areas at their own pace.
Our activities include:
• Sensory exploration
Different textures to sniff and walk across such as straw, bark, mats, soft play, sandpit, and ball pool.
• New experiences
A sensory tent with gentle background sounds (like fireworks, introduced only once pups are settled), plus optional exploration of the groom room with a slow and understanding introduction to new sounds and smells.
• Polite social interaction
Carefully managed greetings and play opportunities to help puppies learn safe, confident social behaviour.
These sessions help puppies:
• Build confidence and emotional resilience
• Develop early problem-solving skills
• Encourage safe curiosity — bold enough to try new things
• Strengthen the bond between puppy and owner
• Lay preventative foundations for adolescence

Off-Lead Play
If the group is ready, we may include an off-lead play session. This is closely monitored by owners and overseen by me. Depending on the group, the off-lead play session maybe split into groups based on age, size and energy level.
• We encourage turn-taking and fair play.
• If a puppy becomes over-excited or fixates on one friend, we pause, pop them back on lead for a short break, and redirect them before resuming play.
Everything is about building confidence gradually, reassuring your pup that they can explore the world without pressure, and always with the comfort of their family nearby.
Coming Soon:
Juniors Club (6–12 Months)
Adolescence can be a challenging stage — confidence shifts, independence grows, and distractions increase.
Our Juniors Club is the next step from Puppy Socials. It’s recommended for those who have attended Puppy Socials, but new dogs are very welcome.
What the Juniors Club Focuses On
• Strengthening your bond with your dog
• Emotional regulation and impulse control
• Calm greetings and polite social skills
• Building confidence in new environments
• Applying skills in real-life situations
Real Life Events
Alongside regular sessions, Juniors Club members will have the opportunity to attend structured “Out & About” events approximately three times per year. These are fun, social, and purposeful — giving dogs the chance to practise their skills in different environments while owners enjoy learning, socialising, and asking questions.

Growing Together
As dogs mature beyond 12 months, the groups have the option progress into the next stage — maintaining familiar friendships while continuing to develop age-appropriate skills.
No starting over.
No losing the community you’ve built.
Just steady, structured progression — from Puppy Socials, through Juniors, and into a lifetime of learning.
