Terms & Conditions

 Facility

  • You must be aged 18 to make a booking to use the areas.

  • All dogs and children must be always accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 whilst on the premises in the interest of Health and Safety.

  • We advise that all persons using the area wear sensible clothing/shoes with non- slip soles, if possible.

  • Smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drugs are not permitted in any of the areas, or anywhere on the premises. There is a smoking shelter outside the facility that should be used when smoking or vaping.

  • The behaviour, safety and welfare of all dogs using It’s a Dog’s Life facility is entirely the owner’s/handler’s responsibility, just as it would be in a public place.

​ Private Hire 

  1. General Information

  • It’s a Dog’s Life facility must be vacated within your agreed time allocation, so it is vacant for the next person’s booking.

  • The booking is for 55  or 25 minutes play time leaving 5 minutes for a staff member to check the area ready for the next visit. 

  • You agree that only people & dogs allowed to enter the facility are those specified on the booking system and agree not to let anyone else in during your visit.

  • You can bring up to 6 dogs at any one time – please contact the staff for numbers above this amount

  • If the customer arrives late, the booking cannot be extended without booking through the site and is dependent on there being availability. In this case, the booking must be made before the start of the subsequent session.

2.  Payment Cancellations and rescheduling​

  • Payment for the private hire facility is made at the time of booking

  • no booking is valid without payment

  • any appointments cancelled or rescheduled with 48 hours of your timeslot unfortunately cannot be refunded.    

 

 3.  Current 40% Promotional Offer – Terms

  • Our current 40% off promotion applies only to private hire bookings made and paid in full at the time of booking under this specific offer.

  • This offer is valid for a limited time only and may be withdrawn at any point, even if the promotional limit (e.g. first 200 bookings) has not yet been reached.

  • This offer applies only to the number of dogs paid for online at the time of booking. 

  • ​This offer does not apply to any mi additional dogs or services added later or on the day, including at the door.

  • Any add-ons or changes made after the original booking will be charged at the standard full rate, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Parties above 6 dogs are not included in discount promotions unless otherwise stated. 

  • We reserve the right to amend or end this promotion at any time without prior notice.

Breed Meets & Play Sessions

1. General Participation

• All dogs should be at least 8 months old and must be accompanied by a responsible owner (18+ years old).  The play sessions are not suitable for young children to attend. 

• Owners must supervise their dogs at all times.

• This is an off-lead social session, but owners must have a lead on hand and be prepared to regain control of their dog if necessary.

 

​​2. Owner Responsibility

• Owners are fully responsible for their dog’s behaviour and any damage or injury caused to other dogs, people, or property.

• If your dog has a history of reactivity, resource guarding, or nervousness around other dogs, please speak with the organiser before attending.

• Owners should pick up after their dogs and dispose of waste responsibly.

​Parking

  • It’s a Dog’s Life is situated on an industrial estate and as such there could be natural and vehicle hazards. Hazards you may encounter could include, but are not limited to, uneven ground, holes, moving vehicles and other industrial machinery.

  • Please drive carefully when entering the industrial estate as there is often vehicle movement and loading/offloading activities in the other facilities close by.

  • Parking must be in the advised parking areas only.

  • All vehicles are left entirely at their owners’ risk and It’s a Dog’s Life accept no responsibility for any loss or damage incurred, accident or otherwise, whilst they are in the facilities.

Entry & Exit

  • Dogs must be kept in vehicles until the previous hirer has loaded their dog(s) back into their vehicles and exited the area.

  • The booking start and finish times include entering and exiting the building.  We kindly ask that everyone has left the building and entrance area by the end of your session time to allow things to keep running smoothly for all visitors.

  • We allow a 5 minute buffer between each session to avoid crossover.  Please adhere strictly to your start and finish times.

  • Please leave the facility as you found it ready for the next visitors.

  • Dogs must be always kept on leads when transferring from the car to the facility.

  • Exit the facility on time and swiftly to allow for easy transition for the next booking.

  • You must allow enough time to unload your dogs, use the facilities and get them back into your vehicles afterwards within your time slot. Your booked sessions include time taken parking, getting ready, use of the area and entering and exiting the session.

 

Health, Safety & Handling

  • All dogs attending It's A Dog's Life St Helens must be: - Fully vaccinated against common canine diseases - Up to date with worming treatments - In good general health - Free from any signs of infectious or contagious conditions.

  • By using our facilities, owners acknowledge and agree that: - Proof of current vaccinations must be provided upon request

  • Please do not bring your dog’s when they are ill or have injuries or health complaints. Do not bring your dogs if they are coughing, vomiting or have diarrhoea.

  • It is recommended that dogs are at least 1 year old to attend breed or group play sessions.

  • Any dog displaying aggressive behaviour during a breed meet/group play session may be asked to leave at the organiser’s discretion.

  • The owners of Its A Dogs Life are not liable for any incidents, accidents or injuries that may occur on the premises. Hirers use It’s a Dog’s Life facility entirely at their own risk.

  • A first aid kit is located in the shop area with firefighting equipment. There is also firefighting equipment in the main play area.

  • CCTV is in operation for safety.

  • The hirer must inspect It’s a Dog’s Life facility on each visit to ensure that it is suitable for use by their dogs.

  • Choke chains, prong collars and electronic devices are not allowed.

  • Harsh handling of dogs, either verbal or physical is not allowed.

  • There will be a member of staff on site, and we inspect the facility and apparatus throughout the day but please notify us straight away if you have any concern

  • We do not take any responsibility for any dog escaping from It’s a Dog’s Life facility.

Liability

  • We hold liability insurance however It’s a Dog’s Life /Wendy Farley will not be held responsible for any client or pet during the hire of our facilities.  While every effort is made to ensure a safe environment, owners attend at their own risk. .

  • The organiser is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or loss/damage to personal property.

  •  By attending, you acknowledge that dog play carries inherent risks, and you accept full responsibility for your dog’s participation.

  • Despite preventive measures, communicable diseases can spread where dogs congregate - Vaccinations, while essential, do not guarantee complete immunity against all strains of diseases - It's A Dog's Life St Helens cannot be held liable for any communicable conditions contracted while using our facilities. 

  • This agreement does not create any rights over the land and the client. The hirer accepts that the landowner / It’s a Dog’s Life / Wendy Farley always maintains control and possession of the facility.

  • All our areas are used at the owners and dogs own personal risk​

  • Any breakages or damage caused to It’s a Dog’s Life must be paid for by the hirer

  • If any dogs that you are responsible for are not insured for 3rd party liability, please be aware that you will be personally liable for any accidents or injuries that the dog may cause, just as if you would be if it occurred in a public place

  • Owners are responsible for their dogs, themselves, and any minors AT ALL TIMES.

 

XL Bully Dogs & other banned breeds

We welcome  XL Bully's and other banned breeds here at it's a dog's life as long as our insurance terms are followed;

  •  1. The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.

  • 2. A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.

  • 3. The dog handler ratio is 1:1 with their handler at all times unless with other dogs from the same household

  • 4. The dog is Neutered – in line with Government Rules

  • 5. The dog is Micro Chipped

  • 6. The field is private property with no public access passing through

  • 7. The field is securely fenced so the dog cannot escape

  • 8. The dog is kept on a lead and muzzled until the gate is shut when entering the field

  • 9. The dog is put back on a lead and muzzled before opening the gate to leave the field

  • 10. You can remove the lead and muzzle once inside the secured field

  • 11. If the household has more than 1 dog, they can come to the field together as long as they have a minimum of 1 handler. All dogs leads and muzzles can be removed once in the field including the XL Bully.

  • 12. If there are dogs from different households, the banned breed will need to remain muzzled and on a lead at all time with a 1:1 handler

 

Equipment Usage Policy:

All play equipment and facilities at It's A Dog's Life St Helens are specifically  intended for dog use only. This includes, but is not limited to, the agility equipment, ball pool, sand pit, and soft play. For safety reasons, humans are not permitted to play on, climb on, or use any of the equipment for personal recreation. Adults may assist their dogs as needed but should not use the equipment themselves. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe environment for all our four legged visitors.

 

The owners will not take any responsibility for any injury to humans or animals caused by using said equipment.

 

Waste

  • Every effort must be made and encourage your dog to do their business outside before entering the facility.

  • The hirer must bring their own poo bags and remove ALL dog’s waste in the bins provided so please keep an eye on your dog. It is a strict requirement that you must pick up after your dogs.

  • No litter is to be left in It’s a Dog’s Life facility as this presents a risk to users and their dogs. Please use the bin provided separating general waste to dog waste.

  • Data

  • We only retain your contact details in the event of having to contact you regarding your booking, or to advise of discounted slots. The information is not shared to any other parties

 

Agreement​​​

  • By completing a booking, I agree that:

  • I have read, understand, and agree to the terms and conditions.

  • My dog(s) are in good health.

  • I will leave the Facility on time so that I do not delay on the next customers booking.

  • I will not hold It’s a Dog’s Life liable for any accidents, loss, injury, or illness that may occur whilst using the facilities.

  • I will not hold It’s a Dog’s Life liable if my dog (or dogs) escape(s) from the Facility.

  • I will leave the facility as I found it and will tidy up after myself and my dog(s).

  • We agree to provide the services stated in this agreement in a reliable, caring, and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof, the Client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against It’s a Dog’s Life / Wendy Farley/organisers
